STM32H7 System-On-Module (SOM) Power Consumption Print

Here is some information regarding power consumption of the STM32H7 System-On-Module (SOM). All numbers listed in this note are mA @ 3.3V.

Some measurements from various practical Linux configurations running on the STM32H7 SOM are provided in the table below:

SOM Configuration Test Power Consumption
SOM-STM32H7 @ 250MHz Linux running shell on serial console
Ethernet unplugged
Linux idle at serial console
94
SOM-STM32H7@ 250MHz Linux running shell on serial console
Ethernet enabled
Linux idle at serial console
94
SOM-STM32H7@ 250MHz Linux running shell on serial console
Ethernet enabled
Linux copying a file from a development host over NFS
128
SOM-STM32H7

Linux "suspended to RAM" (low-power mode) 5

NOTE: The Ethernet PHY isn’t a part of the STM32H7 SOM and the Ethernet PHY current consumption value isn’t included in the aforementioned values.

To provide an upper limit on possible power consumption of the module, here is the Theoretically Calculated Max Power Consumption of the STM32H7 System-On-Module (SOM-STM32H7 variant).
