The Emcraft i.MX 8M Starter Kit provides an LCD add-on board using a 5.5" 1920x1080 MIPI-DSI LCD panel with capacitive touch controller. The LCD panel has the following part number: Frida FRD550L2501.
The LCD add-on board interfaces to the IMX8M-SOM-BSB development baseboard using the following board-to-board connectors:
- IMX8M-SOM-BSB development board: SAMTEC QSH-030-01-F-D-A-K-TR
- LCD add-on board: SAMTEC QTH-030-02-F-D-A-K-TR.

Additional LCD add-on boards may be developed to allow use of alternative LCD panels with the Emcraft i.MX 8M Starter Kit. Any LCD add-on board developed for the Emcraft i.MX 8M Starter Kit must be compliant with the above electrical and mechanical specifications.
If necessary, an LCD add-on board may provide conversion from the MIPI-DSI format driven by the i.MX 8M to the display format of the target LCD. The following table provides suggestions on possible interface devices that may be used to convert from MIPI-DSI to various display formats:
