| Building Linux Images for the i.MX 8M Mini SOM Starter Kit |

NXP maintains two Linux distributions for running on the i.MX 8M Mini SOM starter kit - HoverGames-BSP and HoverGames-Demo. The BSP version of the distribution is based on NXP's Yocto BSP for i.MX 8M Mini, and provides full flexebility of Yocto. The HoverGames-BSP is great for using in production or dedicated embedded systems, which include only the software packages that are required for system functioning. On the other hand, the Hovergames-Demo distribution incorporates the Ubuntu APT package manger that allows a broad range of precompiled software to be installed on the i.MX 8M mini, and be used for experimenting and prototyping.
